Significant Update on the Individual Accountability Framework

Today, Thursday 16 November 2023, the Central Bank published the Individual Accountability Framework (IAF) Standards and Guidance following the conclusions of the three-month consultation period. The published Guidance is issued to provide clarity to role-holders on responsibilities and accountability. As part of the announcement, the Central Bank has published a Feedback Statement and issued Regulations and Guidance to firms on the Individual Accountability Framework. The Guidance is intended to provide clarity regarding the Central Bank’s expectations for the implementation of three aspects of the framework: the (1) Senior Executive Accountability Framework (SEAR), (2) the Conduct Standards and (3) certain aspects of the enhancements to the Fitness & Probity regime.
